The Forest Heritage Centre nestles in quiet bushland and offers unique experience of forest ecology, arts and crafts.

The graceful leaf-shaped building is worth a visit in itself. Inside you will find forest displays, a gallery, a gift shop and wood craft workshops

Our displays have a wealth of information about wildflowers, animals and trees of the local area and specialise in the history of the forest industry. View the exhibits, watch a video or use the computers and electronic microscopes to discover forest secrets not visible to the naked eye.

Our gallery exhibits fine furniture and high quality works in wood, while our gift shop offers a range of cards and crafts fashioned by local and Western Australian artisans. You may just find that perfect memento of the South West.

Outside, enjoy a number beautiful and manageable walks through the jarrah forest floor, and a tree-top viewing platform where you can admire the forest’s leafy canopy. Don’t miss the hand-made timber-getter’s hut and campfire which show how simply the early timber workers lived.
